Dropping by the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday night, the 55-year-old made a casual appearance at the Dumplin‘ star’s party.
Speaking to People, an insider revealed that Aniston allegedly “debated” whether or not to invite him, but in the end was happy that she did.
“Basically, every single person who Jen loves attended,” the source said. “That included Brad. The party was a celebration of Jen’s life.”
“Brad, for long, was a very important part of Jen’s life. She debated back and forth with friends if she should invite him,” added the insider. “She was very happy that he showed up. Many of his close friends were at the party too.”
“[She] didn’t really pay any special attention to Brad,” said the insider. “They hugged and chatted for a bit, but Jen was busy making sure all of her other guests had an amazing time.”
People also reported that in addition to Pitt, Paltrow and Hudson, Aniston’s ex boyfriend John Mayer and his ex Katy Perry were there, as was Perry’s beau, Orlando Bloom.
Aniston’s Friends co-stars — Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, and her ex-husband David Arquette — all apparently joined in on the celebrations too, while other famous faces included Reese Witherspoon, Ellen DeGeneres, Barbra Streisand, Keith Richards, George and Amal Clooney, Demi Moore, Robert Downey Jr., Laura Dern and Jennifer Meyer.
The next day, Aniston’s high profile pals gushed about the previous night’s celebrations and wished the actress a happy birthday for her actual birthday, which is Monday February 11 (today in Australia).
“Love these ladies,” gushed Hudson alongside a GIF with Aniston and Paltrow. “Celebrated this beauty last night Happy Bday JA! We all love you sooo!”
Paltrow also wished her dear friend a “happy birthday.”
“Happy birthday (last night and tomorrow) to #jenniferaniston our ray of sunshine, example of perpetual goodness. We love you so much and you make 50 LOOK [fire emoji].”
When Aniston split from Justin Theroux — her partner of seven years and husband of two — it took the 47-year-old actor several months to address their breakup.
Speaking to The New York Times, Theroux revealed that it was “the most gentle separation, in that there was no animosity.”
In an interview for the January issue of Elle magazine, Aniston also spoke on their 2018 breakup.
“I don’t feel a void. I really don’t,” she said. “My marriages, they’ve been very successful, in [my] personal opinion. And when they came to an end, it was a choice that was made because we chose to be happy, and sometimes happiness doesn’t exist within that arrangement anymore.”
Aniston and Pitt were married from five years between 2000 and 2005. Pitt’s 12-year relationship with actress Angelina Jolie ended in 2016 after two years of marriage.
